Our Shabbat service normally follows this order:

  1. Barchot: traditional blessings read from a Siddur. (Ps. 103)
    • Ma Tovu
    • Rosh Chodesh Blessing
    • Barchu
    • Kaddish
    • Blessing over the Children
    • Blessing of the Messiah
    • Blessing of the Shema
    • A’havah
    • The Shema & V’havtah
  2. Praise Service (Ps. 100), including Davidic Dance (Ps. 30:11; 149:3; 150:4)
  1. The TORAH Service
    • Ayn Kamocha
    • Av Ha’Rachamim
    • Vah’hi Bin’soa ha’Aron
    • The Torah Scroll is removed from the Ark
    • Hava Nagile/Torah Processional
    • Call for Oleh to Bema
    • Barchu
    • Reading of weekly Par’sha
    • Reading of Haftorah Par’sha
    • Reading of B’rit Chadashah (the “New Testament”)
    • Etz Chayim He (Torah Scroll is returned to the Ark)
  2. Midrash: normally by Rabbi Yosef, but we have occasional guests
  3. Close of Service
    • Repition of Shema
    • Prayer: Shalom Yerushalayim
    • Aaronic Benedition
