As with all Congregations, Beit Lechem’s first task is to proclaim the Gospel of Messiah Yeshua to the world and win the lost for our Father’s Kingdom.
One of our specific goals is to reach our Jewish brothers and sisters with the Good News that our Messiah has come -Yeshua of Nazareth.
But another important goal of Beit Lechem is to teach our Christian brothers and sisters the rich, Hebraic roots of our faith.
It is our prayer that they will return to honoring HaShem’s (YHVH) Holy Sabbath, keeping His Feasts and living a Torah-observant life.
To this end, we gladly publish our Statement of Faith. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by phone or email….OR, better yet, come visit us one Sabbath! Shalom.
The Bible is composed of the Tanakh (the Original Covenant) and the B’rit Hadashah (the Renewed Covenant). The Torah is the foundation of all Scripture and is to be used for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe the Shema: “Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad” (Hear O Isra’el: The L-RD our G-d, the L-RD is One!) When Messiah Yeshua was asked which was the greatest of all commandments, He quoted the Shema. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29).
His Word are unchanging and eternal. (Psalm 89:34; Malachi 3:6; Matthew 5:18)
The Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, is the created holy day of HaShem (YHVH), which He gave to His people as part of His Covenant, to be a sign of His Covenant forever. The Sabbath is not only a mitzvah (commandment) it is a feast that is celebrated weekly. (Exodus 31:16; Genesis 2:2-3; Leviticus 23:3; Isaiah 58:13-14; Matthew 12:8)
Yeshua of Nazareth is the Messiah of Isra’el and Redeemer of all mankind. He is the King of Kings and L-rd of L-rds and the ultimate and final Passover Lamb required for our redemption and atonement of sin. He was crucified on Passover, buried on Chag Matzot (Unleavened Bread) and resurrected three nights and three days later at the beginning of the First Fruits of the Barley Harvest. Everyone who repents of their sins and trusts that Yeshua is Messiah died and rose again, is forgiven their sins, grafted into Isra’el and enters into the renewed covenant with HaShem (YHVH) through His sacrifice. We therefore become inheritors of all the promises and Covenants of Isra’el, which includes the teachings, ordinances and laws of the Torah. (Romans 10:9-11; 1Corinthians 5:7).
Those who are not descendants of Avraham, Yitz’chaq andYa’akov who accept Messiah Yeshua as the Promised Redeemer are grafted into the Nation of Israel as explained by Rabbi Sha’ul in Romans 11:17-21 and are represented by the wild olive branches. They are supported by the root, which is HaShem (YHVH) and the Torah, they do not support the root. Together we are one Nation, one flock, under one Shepherd, with one Torah and all serving One G-d. (John 10:16; Matthew 5:17-19)
As Isra’el, we are to shine as lights of truth in the darkness and to be a royal priesthood, a chosen generation praising His Name and proclaiming the Gospel and teaching Torah throughout the world. (Leviticus 23; Matthew 16:18; I Kefa 2:9; Mark 28:19)
